Library

The school library is a child friendly learning environment supportive of students' learning and recreational reading needs. Students are encouraged to become independent information users through weekly library lessons, class work and lunchtime library activities. Connected to the main computer classroom our air conditioned library also contains the school's second computer lab, a smartboard and the connected classroom providing ample opportunities for developing information technology research skills and video conferencing experiences. The "Research zone" also houses our print nonfiction collection and is a great meeting place at lunchtime for craft, board games, computer activity and being with friends.

In addition to developing information literacy the library encourages students to become enthusiastic readers of literature. The "Reading Room" contains our fiction collection which is divided into sections assisting students in their selection of suitable reading choices. The informal atmosphere of cushions and lounging areas provide a quiet refuge from the noise of the school playground and busy work in the Research zone. All our students from Kindergarten to Year 6 participate in the NSW Premier's Reading Challenge with a high completion rate. When opportunities present, storytellers, authors and illustrators are invited to our school to provide new insights into the world of children's literature. Our Children's Book Week Parade and Book Fair are not to be missed school highlights each year.
Welcome to our library!
